THE ROYALE IN THE CENTER OF THE MELROSE MILE
The Royale is a community-centric, service-oriented complex of local, independent businesses that provide a full range of services to the surrounding neighborhoods as well as the greater Phoenix metro area. Since the 1940's these collection of buildings at the SW corner of Glenrosa Ave & 6th Drive have housed various auto repair and body shops. As part of an extensive adaptive reuse project, the owners envisioned a collective of businesses that enhance the Melrose District offerings and create a central gathering place for daily social activities, community get-togethers, live performances & special events both formal and informal. With extraordinary community support and a development team specializing in adaptive reuse, The Royale serves the Melrose, surrounding neighborhoods and the greater Phoenix community since January 2024.

The Royale is the vision of partners Mark Howard & Rocco Menaguale local business owners and entrepreneurs.
Mark is an AZ native and long-time Phoenix resident. After careers in education, professional training, organizational development/HR, and advertising, Mark became a restauranteur in 2005. FEZ Restaurant & Bar was his first foray into hospitality followed by Bliss ReBAR just a few years later. Along with his business partners, Mark created businesses that pride themselves on giving back to the community & creating spaces that are engaging, comfortable, inclusive, safe & supportive for all segments of the community at large.
Rocco has lived in Phoenix for 23 years and has been in the field of Architecture for over 20 years. He is a licensed, registered Architect, Interior Designer, and Contemporary Artist. His projects range from residential to commercial specializing in mid-century modern design & restaurants. He is widely known for his unique acrylic fine art masterpieces sold across the country. Rocco has been the creative behind many hospitality venues including FEZ, Bliss ReBAR, Metropolis Restaurant and Bar on Central architecture and interiors, as well as many other commercial and residential spaces in the Valley.
Together, Mark & Rocco created a space to further enhance the Melrose District and a space that welcomes ALL with a variety of local businesses offering services that are synergistic & accessible.
THE SPACE
The design and architecture is the vision of Rocco Menaguale, RA.
A local Phoenix architect, interior designer and contemporary fine artist. Rocco has created a design inspired by the Mid-Century Modern (MCM) character of the Melrose neighborhood & history of this adaptive reuse property. The Royale's design takes inspiration from the many MCM architectural gems along and near the Melrose Mile while creating something new and exciting. The careful design of this property positions it to act not only as a proud focal point for the neighborhood, but also as space to enhance the sense of community, commerce, economic development, the success of local businesses, and the connectivity of the neighborhood. The Royale's design Is a thoughtful mix of Mid Century Phoenix, Miami Beach lounge, and iconic Vegas glitz from the 60's & 70's. A space that not only elevates the neighborhood but creates a space that's welcoming to all.
